... won't live my life a fuckin' lie, spit venom right in my fuckin' eye - crate or die, these are the words that i live by - create or die...

WHISKEY REBELS - "CREATE OR DIE" ("People Like Your Records"; CD):
With this CD it's funny, recorded already back in 2003 and 2004 and first released by "G.M.M. Records" somewhere back then, it was licensed to the european market by the german label "I Used To Fuck People Like You In Prison Records" (/"People Like You Records") to the european and german market and was released in 2007. Why the fuck good music from the States takes sometimes so long until it gets over to us and how much of this good music we might miss in total?!? So okay, it's not that much funny at all I guess, haha;-). So okay, it's already a little bit coming into age, but it's still the newest release of the WHISKEY REBELS I know about, and anyhow, you now get the review to this record, come what ever may come, haha;-). The WHISKEY REBELS are coming from Sacramento, like the great PRESSURE POINT too, and they run also the cool underground record label of "Downtown Academy" having already released a bunch of cool records, like for example with the already mentioned PRESSURE POINT as well as with the mighty MADHOUSE DISCIPLES. So, and what do we get here from them? Great American Streetpunk music. It's a really sharp edged, hymnal and melodic, yet cracking and hard Streetpunk, and what's making it some kind of 'special' is this somehow melancholy mood that's floating through the songs giving them a really unique character and spirit and charmè, but without letting them become to a somehow 'depressive thing' at all, no, the songs remain standing tall and poud at the end of the day. Damn good!!! Especially the great guitar work- damn grat leads and meloies- really uses to convince, as well as the very well done and arranged vocal lines. Again: Damn good!!! Hm, maybe you can describe them as a mixture out of the MADHOUSE DISCIPLES, RANCID, and THE GENERATORS, but all very unique done at the end of the day. Once again: Damn good!!! It's a very good record that's also delivering us a big bucnh of very good lyrics (critical on society and the ruling policy, personal issues- "CREATE OR DIE" is truly brilliant-, "SEX, THUGS & ROCK'N'ROLL" lyrics, and much, much more), a great artwork, and all songs are coming in a very good production sound. So, enough words said, if you still don't have it but you're searching for some very good Streetpunk music then don't think anymore longer, just go and get it as soon as you can get it. Damn good stuff!!! Cheers & Oi! (9 of 10 points)
