A TRAITOR LIKE JUDAS - "ENDTIMES"

First of all, I never liked this band. Saw them quite a few times back (years ago) live and listened (five years ago or so) to their precursor album "NIGHTMARE INC."... and it was stereotypical Metalcore bullshit. Bah!!! Two months back (or something like this) I got aware of new A TRAITOR LIKE JUDAS songs at MySpace... and what I could listen to really was quite a suprise. Not so sure about what would be coming at all, I just was knowing that the songs at MySpace sounded damn good if not really great, yehp, and so I ordered then this album. As it reached me the next suprise, for what I do see and know really not one single founding member of A TRAITOR LIKE JUDAS is now-a-days left in the rows of the band (if I'm wrong, sorry, and please correct me), and with two former members I once used to study together. Anyhow, seems to me like A TRAITOR LIKE JUDAS are pretty much rebuild and refocussed today (refocussed because after five years of no new record, ha, that's a long time of delay for a non-major band out there and so they really needed to kik it off pretty much from another start with this one here, at least if ya ask me) and they've packed things up to go and come and to set pure energy to detonating music... Did it work out?!? Yes!!! (To keep it maybe a little bit shorter this time;-)...) The record starts off great with the Techno/Dance (please work more with this elements, fantastic) intro and the melody line is continued with the riffing and the lead of the first song "AT WORLD'S END" (onemonster of a song), and now let me tell ya what ya get here. A TRAITOR LIKE JUDAS do play damn good Metalcore the pretty or very modern way, if ya like AS I LAY DYING, UNEARTH, AT WITS END, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, and other stuff like this, as well as some modern Emo music like ALEXIS ON FIRE (just listen to the guitar lead work), all combined with some (only very) few straight forward good old Hardcore parts, clever arranged and good placed brutal punishing Beatdowns, and damn great melodic and hymnal and the songs very strong marking guitar work, and one hell of an intelligent and grapping songwriting, yeahr, then A TRAITOR LIKE JUDAS will be definitely your new or at least 'newly' (or again) found holy grail when it comes to music. The guitar playing is awesome, will leave you standing and staring with open eyes and an breath-less open mouth, like all the rest of the music on this album. No matter if it are the tons of guitar riffs settled together in the songs (no matter if ya take the whole complete album, or each and every single song alone) or the brilliant guitar leads, then there are great hard and brutal and damn emotional as well as fucking charismatic vocals (shouting and singing, sometimes also clean singing or distorted-worked-over sick vokillz parts, no supid Death Metal gunts and/or boring Black Metal screams), the über-hard and ultra-heavy and damn trenchant rhythm section (bass and drums), or the larger-than-life melody lines and the catchy and melodic, hymnal and anthemic refrain parts, the brilliant and grapping arranged songs (full of different pace-works and exciting rhythm-structures, suprising changes of the mood of the songs as well as in the architecture of them, it's just awesome), or if it are the outshining technical skills of the playing musicians, no matter what part of the music that A TRAITOR LIKE JUDAS had done here on this masterpiece, yehp, here everythings fits perfect to each other, and that's (at least to me) one hell of a great and very, very, very positive suprise. Great work!!! To point it out, you really desperatly need to check this album out, point and fact!!! Lyrically it's (for what I did get) some sort of a (very interesting and exciting as well as also a great worked out) concept album about the topic the title of this album is dictating it, and that's done great, as well as the phenomenal looking artwork that displays the title in a damn great way. The very clear and clean, as well as also very forceful production sound is also just pure gold. So, yes, to say it short and pecise, I really somehow searched for faults and let-downs on this album here, yes, so maybe you can say that I searched desperatly after something like this for the last two months or so, because I simply just couldn't believe what I was listening to here again and again, I couldn't believe that this are really A TRAITOR LIKE JUDAS after all my earlier experiences with them, yeahr, I'm not proud of it but you know it because it's the old story of "What couldn't be (due to earlier experiences) simply can't be!!!", this bullshit mentality and attitude, but fuck it, A TRAITOR LIKE JUDAS really turned my head around with this album here and so I throw all this described 'fault-seeking' and the explained bullshit-mentality-and-atiitude over board and they now get what they deserve, and so with my honest respect and in all honour, hats off, this is a masterpiece and you need to have it!!! Awesome!!!! Get it!!! (10 of 10 points)
