Okay, this is an already pretty old record, released in 2000. Ha, but I don't care that much about it, for all what I do know not that many guys got aware of it, yehp, shame on ya, and so here comes the review of it to make it a least for 0,5% or something like this better known, eleven years after it was released and not knowing if there are still copies out there somewhere that can be bought, haha;-). LOVED AND HATED were from New York City and founded by guys that had also been members in AGNOSTIC FRONT and IRON CROSS. And that is also giving you a pretty good imagination or impression of what you get from this guys: 100% Old School Bootboy sound somewhere between Old School NYHC music and hard stomping old brewed (American) Oi! sound. If you like AGNOSTIC FRONTs great 1990's very strong by Oi! influenced records ("SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE", "RIOT, RIOT UPSTART", "DEAD YUPPIES") then you will also love LOVED AND HATED, if you're a fan of the great S.S.S.P. (a.k.a. SKINHEADS STILL SCARE PEOPLE) then you will also like if not love LOVED AND HATED, and if ya can imagine a hard knocking and fast paced mixture out of (older) AGNOSTIC FRONT, (old) IRON CROSS, THE UPRISE and HEADSTRONG, just for example, then LOVED AND HATED will also be exactly what you're looking out for. Fast and very 'punky', yet hard guitar work, a tight and power-pumping rhythm section, great charismatic NYHC Hardcore-Shouting-Vokillz, etc. pp., it's all there. So check it out if ya're into Old School (New York) Hardcore, good old (American) Oi! Core and if you like your Oi! falvored with massive spicy doses of (Old Tyme) Hardcore then make sure that you know about this guys here. If it all would have been done more massive and powerful, and if especially the refrain parts would just be more 'there' then it all would have been even much better. Okay, good gladiatorial Underdog lyrics, a truly good and very 'nice' stripped-down-to-the-core production sound, and a pretty cool artwork are making this CD to a nice round affair. Good stuff, and even it's already older if you like the described music and if you still don't have it, make sure that you at least risk an ear or better get it anyhow (I've got it some years ago back then for a very low price, so maybe you're also succesful in getting it for a fair price). The band also toured Europe and Germany back then and it still makes me wanna puke that I missed their live concert in the german city of Wolfsburg (pretty near to or from where I live) in 2003 or so, damn it, fuck!!! Don't know if the band is still around or not, and I also don't know if the label (released some great stuff in the early 2000's years, like for example the legendary TURMOIL) is still active and existing, but anyhow, this here was and still is really a truly good record that you really should or better need to listen to (and maybe call it your own). Good stuff, point and fact!!! (8 of 10 points)
