*** RAZORWIRE MILITIA ***

RAZORWIRE - "CAUGHT IN THE WIRE" ("D.I.Y."; CD):
First of all I would like to say THANX A LOT to Mike for sending me the CD (for free!!!) that I would otherwise never have gotten over here anyway. Mike is the singer of RAZORWIRE as well as of the SORE LOSERS, that will finally be featured with a new interview here on this blog in the very near future of this blog (some day this coming week, finally) and the self-titled record of them I have also already reviewed before here on this blog. So, now to this CD here: RAZORWIRE are around for something about 18 years, and that's quite a statement, if you ask me, they're definitely in for the long run. Much respect for that!!! And currently they are searching for a record label that would like to bring their stuff out on a regular basis. And what's their stuff, their music?!? A pretty hard and heavy, nicely unique mixture out of Streetpunk, Hardrock and some harsh stomping old school Hardcore sound, and sometimes you can also get aware of some old MISFITS and DANZIG influences, just listen for example to the great "FORMALDAHYDE BABY". The music's marked pretty strongly by the very robust, dirty, hard and broad guitar work, Mike's damn charismatic lead singing vocals and voice, full, powerful, angry and smart and hard as fuck, and then also the forceful rhythm section is giving the music really it's crown, if you understand what I mean. Mix some good old American Working Class Streetpunk and Streetrock music (maybe somewhere between THE BRIDGEBURNERS, the BRASSKNUCKLE BOYS and the U.S. ROUGHNECKS) with some good old classic Hardrock noice (come on, I don't have to name you the bands, you should know about all the classics) with some big devastating loads of bonecracking old school Hardcore like SHEER TERROR, and round it up with some old MISFITS and also some old DANZIG notes, then you get a pretty good idea of what RAZORWIRE are giving here to us. And what shall I say, they do a just great job!!! We get 28 songs at all, yes, 28 songs, and you know what, there's truly not one single really weak track here on this CD, and that's a statement of one of a kind. My personal favorites are the great "KILLING TIME" (no matter if it's the version that opens this record, or if it's the version that finishes that record), "LOST ANGELS", "ONE MSITAKE", "BODY BAG", "R'N'R", "HANG 'EM HIGH", "LEFT FOR DEAD", "PROPHET", "MERCY", "CAN'T TURN BACK", "HEROS", "FORMALDAHYDE BABY", "SOLDIER" and "FOREVER REMAIN", great songs, and the rest is also everything but in no way weak or something like this. Really great stuff, and I'm truly hoping that they will finally find a label to release their music with some good distribution work behind it!!! They really deserve it!!! The CD comes as a CD-R in a paper sleeve with the song titles but no lyrics, photos, etc. pp., but okay, it all costs really a lot of money today so I won't ran my mouth because of the stuff that's being missing here. Get this CD and get in contact with the band, and there's also already an interview with them in the work, so keep your eyes fuckin' open for it!!! Great band, great music, point and fact!!! Get it!!! As soon as anyhow possible!!! Cheers & Oi! (9 of 10 points)
