Canadian Oi! / Streetpunk deluxe!!!

DOCKSIDE HOOKERS - "KILLING THE MUSIC" ("Longshot Music" / "Bandworm Records"; 7"):

Yeahr, here we do get a nice sweet little collectors 7" on black vinyl of a just pure solid gold great Oi! / Streetpunk band from the always called beautiful country of Canada, coming as a coproduction of the two fine labels "Longshot Music" (U.S.A.) and "Bandworm Records" (Germany). Hm, I think it's pretty much the second release of this fine band, after a D.I.Y. debut Demo CD. I'll try to keep it short this time. I swear... We do get four tracks, two on each side (Side A: "UNITED" & "WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME"; Side B: "PRIDE" & "HAIL TO THE WORKING CLASS"). The DOCKSIDE HOOKERS deliver us a melodic yet hard, very catchy and hymnal, powerful and invigorating Oi! / Streetpunk, all played good paced and well-versed. Sharp driven and hard hitting guitar playing is marking the songs for some good reasons, a bulky and grumpy rhythm section is given the songs a strong and loadable backbone, the powerfull and burly vocals making the songs very hit-suspicious and going over the top, and the strong fist in the air choirs and crew back ups just making the songs complete, so that it is a really nice round package that we do get to hear here. If you like the SUBWAY THUGS (more) and KNUCKLEHEAD (less), and if you can imagine a very good mixture out of this two great Canadian bands, then damn, check this outstanding four piece out!!! On top we do get cool lyrics about 'Oi! Oi! Unity!', 'Blue Collar Pride', 'Drunken Violence', and the 'Working Class Life', and all done very good and damn authentic and convictive. A very good production sound and a nice artwork are delivered to us with this 7" as well. Ah, and with buying it you'll also get the official download code to download the 7" as an MP3 data file respectively the songs featured on this 7" as MP3 data files. This 7" is also strictly limited, hm, I think the coloured specimens are limited to 450 copies, and the singles coming in black vinyl are limited to 50 copies, or something like that. But however, get it, and better be quick!!! Great single, great band, I truly hope that there will be coming a full length record very soon!!! Cheers & Oi! (9 of 10 points)
